The real reasons your clothes don’t fit...

1) Our fat cells are bigger. The purpose of a fat cell is to store fat when your body doesn’t need it and to release it when it does. Scientists have found that women tend to have more fat-storing lipogenic enzymes and larger fat cells while men have more fat-releasing lipolytic enzymes and smaller fat cells. In short, women store fat quickly and lose it slowly while men store fat slowly and lose it quickly.

2) Estrogen. Scientists have found that estrogen multiplies the fat-storingEstrogen also determines a woman’s shape since it directs fat to be stored in the buttocks, hips, and thighs. Throughout history, the sign of fertility has been a woman with large hips. Testosterone, the male hormone, meanwhile, encourages the production of the fat-releasing enzymes. Figures.

3) Dieting. The built-in protective mechanism that ensured our survival during a famine now works against us when we starve ourselves in a misguided attempt to lose weight. Your body can’t tell the difference between famine and a self-imposed ‘’crash diet’’. One of the first changes is the activation and multiplication of the fat-storing enzymes. Worse, the fat cells become less efficient at losing fat. Most of the weight lost on a crash diet comes from the lean parts of the body – water and muscles. That’s not the end of the story. Since there is less lean body tissue, the body now burns fewer calories. The weight is regained in the form of more fat.

4) Inadequate sleep. Sleep is important for weight regulation because of its effects on leptin and ghrelin—two appetite-regulating hormones. Release of leptin, which tells your brain that you’ve eaten enough, depends on getting enough sleep. Meanwhile, sleep suppresses the release of ghrelin, a hormone that makes us crave sweet and high-fat foods. When both of these hormones are imbalanced, we can find it difficult to stop eating, especially when it comes to junk foods.

I’m about to share with you one simple tip that can help you boost your fat loss and make you realize why those nationally televised diet programs don’t work in the long run.

FIRST, let me give you a tiny anatomy lesson, and it’s probably something you’ve never heard about. I may get a little bit technical for second, but stick with me because I promise you by the end of his presentation you should understand how to lose the weight you want and keep it off for good. This unusual tip is about your liver.

The relationship between your liver and your hormones is an interesting one. Your liver plays a significant role in hormonal imbalances because the liver breaks down or metabolizes the hormones once they have done their work in the body. The liver breaks down the hormones estrogen, aldosterone and insulin.

If the liver isn’t efficient at breaking down these hormones they can accumulate in the body and cause hormonal imbalances. For example, if aldosterone isn’t broken down efficiently, it can result in fluid retention which can lead to uncomfortable puffiness, an aggravation of cellulite, weight gain and elevated blood pressure levels.

On the other hand, if estrogen isn’t broken down efficiently, this can lead to excessive levels of estrogen in the body which can result in weight gain around the hips. buttocks and thighs.

The liver also has a relationship with insulin, which is very important when it comes to your metabolism. Insulin regulates the metabolism of fats and carbohydrate. If you have a weight problem, chances are pretty good that your insulin levels are out of whack. 

Insulin is a fat storing hormone so that the high levels of insulin promote the storage of fat especially in the abdominal area.

The high levels of insulin also send a message to the liver to store more fat, so many people with a high insulin level develop a fatty liver. A fatty liver is very sluggish and won’t break down hormones efficiently and this causes further weight gain and fluid retention. Many middle aged people with a roll of fat under the upper abdomen have a “fatty liver” – a condition in which the liver has stopped burning fat and has turned into a fat storing organ.

But there is a solution. After the accumulated fat is removed, your weight loss efforts will improve significantly.
